It is quite well known to many that Italy, like other European nations, could be sharply divided into two parts: into a South and a North.
The cultural, eno-gastronomic and character attitude reasons of the peoples who inhabit it, depend on the past colonizations that these territories have undergone. Although from an artistic-monumental point of view, we can find evidence of all historical periods in almost all of the peninsula; from a cultural point of view, the character assonances of the colonizing peoples are evident. The North with the Austro-Hungarian peoples and in general with the Nordic peoples; the South with the “Latin” peoples. Or rather with the dynasties of the Angevins (the French) and the Aragonese (the Spanish).
The Tour of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies is a journey inside the great Bourbon Kingdom that in the 18th century saw the splendor of the South imposed on the entire Italian peninsula. A single kingdom with its capital in Naples ruled over the two present-day regions of Sicily and Campania and the rest of the South.
Always sister regions, in fact, Campania and Sicily are two lands united by many elements. From history, culture, origins, the continuity of landscapes and archaeological-monumental heritage, the bounty of the land, the refined and priceless culinary art, and the sunshine and exuberance of its peoples.
A full-immersion within the splendor of the Baroque, the suggestion of the Greco-Roman temples, the lush nature of its vegetation, the scents of sweets and citrus smells that accompany the streets, the boundlessness of the naturalistic panoramas of unparalleled beauty, the effervescence of its volcanoes and the folklore of its inhabitants; will accompany you throughout the duration of this trip of incredible content.
*Tour currently organized for campers only.
